Aimee & her boys…. {Family Photos, Sydney}

Remember this family? I shot little Harleys newborn photos just over a year ago now, and Aimee thought it was time for some updated family photos. These guys had just flown back from Fiji (lucky ducks), and we decided to meet at Fagan Park, Galston, where Kai has only ever been as far in as the massive play equipment at the entrance! With the promise of mum going on the Flying Fox 5 times at the end of the shoot (go Aimee!), we walked a little further, found a nice spot in the garden, and I captured these memories for this gorgeous family. Have a look:

Aimee would have to be one of my best referring clients – I think she’s referred 7 people to me. Thank you Aimee, MUAH! :)

Harley been walking for a little while now, but its still so cute to see!

Little Harley did NOT want to be picked up here! Once they find their feet, thats it!

Aimee and her boys.

We walked back around the lake, found some leaves, and had some fun!

These next 2 photos have a story attached. I wanted to take a photo of Vahan & Kai, but Kai wasnt too interested in standing with his dad. So I asked Kai to stand infront of me, hold my camera, and take a photo of just his dad. Well, Kai took the photo on the left. Yup, completely in focus, no head chopped off – a perfect photo. I think ive found my next assistant. Anyway, after Kai saw that photo, he knew exactly where to stand with his dad for the photo on the right:

Thank you again, Aimee, for asking me to capture your family. Looking forward to more updated photos thru the years. And thanks again for the 7 referrals :) Check your inbox for your slideshow :)

Helen & Pete are engaged!! {Sydney Wedding Photographer}

On the Queens Birthday long weekend, I had planned to met with Helen & Pete at Bicentennial Park at Homebush, to have a coffee, a chat about their wedding plans, and then we’d organised to do their pre-wedding shoot. Well, it was such a glorious public holiday that the whole of Sydney had decided to go for a picnic at the park. Im serious. It was chock-a-block packed to the brim, not a parking spot to be had. We ended up at one of the hotels, chatted for AGES (I think we all lost track of the time), and then headed back outside to catch the last of the sun.

Helen & Pete are such a lovely couple, so down to earth and very clearly inlove.  But it wasnt until they warmed up infront of the camera that the TRUE Helen & Pete came out…. have a look:

Pete just has to look at Helen, and she giggles :)

But they can be romantic too.

Pete bought Helen the most amazing engagement ring, its so unique, and looks absolutely gorgeous on her ring finger.

Ok, warming up a little more now, I spy 1 tongue….

I think Pete is singing here (no, he’s not a singer, he’s a chef!)

The only photo Helen really, really wanted.

Ok…..

Helen & Pete being serious…. until she tickled him!

Another romantic moment…

Until…..

Ok, this one was funny – they were just standing there, I took a few more photos, then monkey boy just jumps on the tree and starts swinging away – I was laughing so hard all I got were these 2 photos!

Helen, and that smile she gave me all afternoon. Just gorgeous.

Helen & Pete, it was such a pleasure spending Monday afternoon with you, you guys rock. And your wedding will be just amazing – less than 10 months to go! :)   Looking forward to it. Oh, and check your inbox for more photos of your engagement shoot, and your photo slideshow! :) L. xx

LeeAnn and her family… including the dog! {Sydney Family Portrait Photographer}

A few weeks ago I received the best e-mail from a lady called LeeAnn. It seams she’d seen me driving around the local area (yes, my car has Tiger Lily Photography signage all over it) and she decided to check out my website and Facebook page. The rest of the e-mail was a photographers dream – 2 contact  phone numbers, her address, childrens names & ages, and the days & times they’re available for photos, and wanting to book. Beautiful. Excellent. I LOVE enquiries like that – I could tell the shoot was going to run just as smoothly! Anyway, I think it was the following day, after LeeAnn had signed the booking form, transferred the session payment thru to me, that we spoke – and realised that she knew past clients of mine, and she even went to the same local highschool as my husband went too – what a small world!

Anyway, we finally met last Saturday (after 1 rain delay), and had a terrific shoot in the late winters afternoon light. Check out LeeAnn and her funky family:

Family of 5, including George, the dog (the other animals couldnt make it)

A loved one passed away recently, and the kids bought something special with the money they were left. This little man got a lovely antique Clock……

And this young lady got a Pandora bracelet.

Still inlove, after how many years?!

Now, there is a 3 and a bit age gap between these too – the same gap as between my brother & I. For anyone that knows me and my brother, do you think we ever acted like this?!??! Apparently some kids actually act like they like each other – HA!

Crazy face!

George, who had a special bath for the photos.

LeeAnn, thank you again for contacting me, I loved meeting you and photographing your family. Im glad ive re-inspired you to get a camera – looking forward to seeing some of the photos you take soon! Oh, and check your inbox for your slideshow! :)

George & his family {Sydney family photographer}

Meet George! (more of this lovely family will be on the blog later in the week)

Little Georgia…. & her mummy & daddy {Sydney Family Portrait Photographer}

Meet little Georgia!! Isn’t she a cutie! Ive known her mummy and daddy for years and years… Dane is Adams brother, and we did our real estate course together many, many moons ago, and then we worked at the same agency, which is where we both met Kersten – I always thought Kersten was pretty cool, but Dane obviously liked her a little more than me – as he married her (ha ha), and then they made the gorgeous Georgia together. Georgia is a beautiful older cousin to baby Hannah, its going to be so lovely for these 2 little girls to grow up together.  Isn’t she gorgeous:

This shoot was 3rd time lucky, we cancelled 2 shoots due to the rain, but last Friday, we got some gorgeous late afternoon light (even tho the ground was still a little soggy!)

Sitting up!

How cruisy is this kid? Just kicking back, in mums arms….

These photos make me laugh – Georgia was so determined to blow a raspberry here… love it!

These next photos were taken towards the end of the shoot, Georgia is still smiling and giggling – she’s just an angel.

The gorgeous new family of 3.

Thank you, Kersten & Dane, for letting me capture your gorgeous little girl, she is just a delight, and it was a pleasure to spend a cold winters afternoon with you all! Check your in-box for your slideshow! xx

Chantelle & Grant are engaged!! {Wedding Photography, Sydney}

Another wet & windy Sydney winters day….. I met Chantelle & Grant on Monday down at Bradleys Head, Mosman, for some pre-wedding photos.  They told me they weren’t afraid of the rain – they’d seen Erin & Seans engagement photos in the rain in March, but just as we walked down towards the water, we could see the rain coming thru the heads, pelting down, and decided to pull the pin, and go and have a coffee and a ‘dotty cookie’ (did I get that right, Chantelle?) at Mosman instead. An hour later, the rain had all but gone, and we had some lovely late afternoon light down by the water, on Sydney Harbour.

Meet Chantelle & Grant:

Chantelle & Grant are friends of Verity & Jay – Grant & Jay are both jockey’s, and Chantelle & Verity are both horse trainers…… im sensing the world of horse racing & training is just like every other industry – everybody knows everybody :) Anyway, a big thank you to Verity for passing on my details to Chantelle!

(work it)

How gorgeous & inlove are these 2 – im looking forward to their wedding next February.

We went for a little walk around the corner a bit, onto the sand. We lasted for about 2 minutes, as the tide was coming in. And boy, it was coming in.

A little cheeky (get it….)

Grant & Chantelle – the future Mr & Mrs. How cute are these guys?

Back to the water for some fun.

Thanks for coming out in the cold & rain, guys, it was awesome to meet you, and im looking forward to shooting your wedding next year! xx
