The adorable Keira & Zac! {Sydney Childrens Photographer}

Jenny called me last week wanting some photos of her niece & nephew – 8 month old Keira, and Zac, who was 2 last December. They live with their mummy (Jen’s sister, Marianne), and daddy, in America, so Jen, and her parents, dont see them too often. So my job was to take a few photos of the kids (and maybe 1 or 2 of them with their grandparents!). Here goes…

Little Keira…. what a doll. People often ask me what is the best age for photographing children. I think every age, kids are constant changing, why not photograph them all the time! But in saying that, 8 months looks pretty darn cute, dont you agree?

Look at the concentration in the eyes! And then such surprise and joy when she managed to pick up the leaf!

The eyes!

And Zac – he’s about 2 and a half, another gorgeous age. Look at his beautiful blue eyes, and gorgeous blonde curls! And that giggle, how addictive!

It wasnt all giggles tho, here are some of the expressions he gave me on Monday afternoon……

Every little boy loves Thomas!

Zac with Pa

And with both his grandparents.

Sibling love!

And a few with Aunty Jen (couldn’t resist!)

Thanks Jen, I hope you and your family love the photos…. check your in-box for your slideshow :)

The May family of 5…… {Sydney Family Photographer}

Louise & James were one of my first ever wedding couples, they were married a few years back at Cafe Enzo, Peppers Creek, at the gorgeous Hunter Valley (I LOVE Hunter Valley Weddings!). We’ve become great friends since then, and went through our pregnancies together – Me with Tommy, and Lou with little Abby, who was born just 2 weeks after Tom! Louise is a top hairdresser, and owns Aspire Hair at Quakers Hill – 9626 0032 (tell her I sent you!) :)

Another shoot thats been a long time coming… these guys were one of the families that I had to cancel last October / November when I had every illness under the sun (thanks daycare!), and we’ve postponed the shoot about a million times since – its either been raining, or one of the kids has been sick! Anyway, last week I finally took them to a nice little spot by the water to capture this gorgeous family of 5. Check them out:

The Kiddlets – Luke aged 10, 3 year old Ryan, and Abby, who turned one in Feb!

Ssssoooooooo Cute!

Brotherly love.

Abby’s still finding her feet – she’s doing pretty well, if you ask me!

A few photos just of mum & dad….

I wont tell you what Lou’s laughing at here ;)

The May party of Five.

A long time coming, but what a beautiful family to photograph! Love you lots and lots, guys. Check your inbox for your slideshow :)

Mr & Mrs Bucko, and their 3 princesses….. {Sydney newborn baby photgrapher}

Katie had been looking forward to this shoot for a while now – she’s part of my school group of mums that catch up for coffee and a chat about once a month (Glenn & I went to school together, but its such a small world – Katie is related to my Godfather, and she also used to work with my husbands high-school girlfriend…. that whole 6 degrees thing all over again!).  I love taking photos of my friends & their kids, im still so honoured that they trust me to capture these precious memories for them, and I still get such a thrill when I go back to their homes years later, and see my photos hanging on the walls.

Anyway, this shoot had been booked in for a while, Katie was told to slow things down by her doctor, with fear that bubs could pop out a bit early. She made it to about 38 weeks, which was just perfect. And, after a bit of confusion with the stenographer reading the 12 week ultrasound wrong, 2 weeks ago, this gorgeous little baby girl popped out:

Abbey Jean is the newest addition to the Buxton’s netball team. There are currently 2 other players – 5 year old Darci & 18 month old Tayla:

The Buxton party of 5.

Burp time!

I didn’t realise until I re-read Katies text that she sent me when Abbey was born, but she was actually born on my mums 50th (+gst) birthday! Happy birthday again Tootsie, and thanks for all the gorgeous hats you’ve been making for me :)

Might have to update that photo now, guys!

Thanks again Katie & Glenn, for letting me photograph your new little bundle of joy – she’s just gorgeous, and will be very loved by her 2 sisters! Looking forward to seeing them all grow into lovely young ladies (and also watching Glenn squirm with having to pay for 3 weddings :) )  Check your in-box for your slideshow. L. xx

A Newbie & an Angel {Sydney maternity photographer}

Christine contacted me a month or so ago, after some pregnancy / maternity photos, and then some newborn photos once bubs has arrived, and she also mentioned that her and her family were new to Sydney. Suddenly alarm bells start going off in my head – 2 of my favourite things in the 1 e-mail: a maternity shoot & a family who are new to Sydney! So immediately I suggested photos around Sydney Harbour, the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, etc. We set a date for the photos (Good Friday), and I warned Christine that it always rains in Sydney over Easter, and we may be pushing the shoot back a week (what I didn’t tell Christine is that im kinda jinxed when shooting around then city – it always rains – proof can be seen here). BUT GUESS WHAT – no rain! Just a cool family of 3 and a half, waiting for newbie’s arrival:

Meet Christine, Jose, little Angel & Newbie (in mummy’s tummy):

We played a game of who can make the perfect heart around Newbie. Christine had it down pat.

So did Angel & Jose!

Then the real fun began…… FINGER PAINTING!!

LOVE this shot.

The finished project.

While the finger paints were out, we wrote some more….. (Angel picked the colour blue, maybe she knows something that Christine & Jose don’t?!)

Angel picked the colours for ‘newbie’ – Christine & I joked that she was looking a little like Google……

It was so lovely to meet you and your family, Christine, and I look forward to meeting ‘Newbie’ in about a months time! Enjoy your photos, and check your in-box for your slideshow! xx

Keira, just 7 days new…. {Sydney Newborn Photographer}

When I saw on Facebook that Nicky & Donal were having a baby, I was so excited!!!! My first ‘bride & groom’ to have a baby together after the wedding. And then when Nicky asked me to shoot the newborn photos I was singing for joy! Not only were Nicky & Donal a super cool couple, but I was stoked that my plan was all starting to come together…. when I started this business, I remember I had crazy things on my website – I wanted to shoot EVERYTHING! I was told by a few people to cull and specialise, so I got rid of the animal photos. I got rid of the landscape photos. I got rid of the photos of buildings & houses. I got rid of the advertisements for graphic design services (invitations, birth announcements & thank you cards). I got rid of the photo keyrings & handbags, al-la Cath & Kim (seriously, but if anyone still wants a photo handbag, I have a pile somewhere – they make great pressies for the grandparents!). But I couldn’t decide between portraits & weddings. I didn’t want to. I wanted to capture both. They’re just so completely different, but so special & wonderful in their own way. And Im so glad I decided not to specialise any further – if I had I may not have met Nicky & Donal for their wedding last year at Yester Grange, or I may not have met this gorgeous little angel, just 7 days old. Meet Keira Claire:

The beautiful new family of 3.

This photo was taken in the midst of posing little Keria, but I thought this one was cuter!

Family photo with the cats, whose names I cant remember, so Im calling them blackie and snowie,  hope thats ok, guys!

My favourite photo of the day, in the late afternoon sunshine.

So here is little miss Keira, who didn’t want to miss the Easter Bunny on Sunday, so popped out a few weeks early! And to Nicky & Donal, she’s just gorgeous, well done! You guys are so natural for first time parents, and you’ve created perfection. Enjoy the photos, and your slideshow thats been e-mailed to you! See you for the next newborn photos (ha ha) xx

Vanessa & Rob are Married!! {Wedding Photographer Sydney}

What a gorgeous day last Saturday was for Vanessa & Robs wedding at Lighthouse Hill in Wollongong. You may remember Vanessa & Rob from their e-shoot last December – there was so much love in the air that day, but that was nothing compared to last Saturday! These 2 beautiful people are not only madly in love, but are also adored by their family & friends – it was a gorgeous ceremony, and Im so happy I could document it for them. I had the fab Carley from Peppermint Creek Photography 2nd shooting for me again, thank you Carley, I loved our Thelma & Louise roadtrip down to the Gong with you. And to Ness & Rob – here is a sneak peak at your photos!

2 year old Ryley – he’s just awesome.

The girls all ready to go!

Rob & his brothers waiting for Vanessa & the girls.

Chris giving Vanessa away.

I loved this – the parents stood up with the bridal party right through the ceremony. What a beautiful touch.

Their first kiss was X-rated…..!!

The 2nd one was just loving :)

While mum & dad were signing the register, Ryley stole the parasol (& the show!)

The Lawton family.

Vanessas dress was a Henry Roth design – light gold sweetheart neckline empire shaped A line. She designed her ring, handmade by solid gold in Perth.

How cool is this bridal party!??! James, Kylie (who did all the girls hair too, what a talented chickie), Elise & Andrew – you guys ROCKED!

Sorry Elise, I had to post the running shot…. (don’t hate me!)

Ah, so inlove!

Ness & Rob – Thanks so much for allowing Carley & I to be a part of your special day. I hope you’re living it up in Penang, and shopping up a storm!! Your slideshow will be e-mailed to you soon. And for any guests at the wedding, please e-mail me (lauren@tigerlilyphotography.com.au) with Vanessas maiden name, for a link to the slideshow! Enjoy! Lauren xx.
