Hayley & Iain are getting married! ~ Sydney Engagement Photographer

Remember Hayley (Audrey) from her Hens Night, well, last Saturday, I finally got to shoot their Engagement Session (the last time was rained out). Note to self…. make sure future E Sessions arent shot the week after the bucks night – Iain, do you know how you got all the scratches on your arms?!?!? It took FOREVER to remove them!

Hayley & Iain, thank you for letting me capture your love during the lead up to your wedding – im very excited to be invited to share your wedding day with you! I hope you enjoy your e-preview!

I learnt another lesson on the weekend – 2 shoots on the one day isnt the best idea, when 5 months pregnant and suffering from hay-fever, on the hottest day of the year! (oops!)

More blogging this week, I promise!

My gorgeous doggies

My doggies went to the beautician this week. People laugh at me, and the way I treat Pepa & Chewy - ’wait till you have kids, it will all change!’, well, in 4 months time, little Daphne will be here, so I want to spoil my doggies before he gets here.

My doggies go to the beautician a few times a year, I dont know how much they enjoy it, its more for ‘mummys’ sake, as I get sick of vacuuming their hair (spring = dog hair falling out = hair on carpet!). Stu & I always laugh for about 10 minutes after we pick them up, the transformation is amazing. Check it out.

Before…..

And after….

Aren’t they just the cutest! I tell you, they will be VERY put out come January, when they’ll be sleeping in the laundry!

Busy weekend for me, I have all the rescheduled shoots from a few weeks back, when it was raining. Don’t think there is much chance of rain tomorrow, thankfully!

Bye!

Our little boy (called Daphne)

Yes, we’re having a boy!! On Thursday Stu & I went for my 20 week ultrasound, and discovered we have a big, healthy, active boy growing in my tummy!! The emotions were running wild on Thursday – it was a day I don’t think Stu or I will ever forget.  After we told the Sonographer - a lovely lady called Tracey – that we wanted to know the sex of our child, she just blurted out ‘there’s the penis, congratulations you’re having a boy (now go empty your bladder!)’, and left Stu and I stunned – he, along with all of my family and all of my friends (bar 1), was convinced that little Daphne was going to be a girl. I had an inking that it was a boy, but to be confirmed, oh my gosh, how exciting!!! Stu and I spent the next 10 minutes laughing and crying together, it was awesome!  What a surprise!! Im so glad that we opted to find out the sex of little Daphne, and now we get the next 4 months to prepare – buy blue clothes, paint the nursery, and try and plan our life with a son. It was such an amazing day, and im so glad we got to have that feeling without the pain of childbirth, and then the responsibility of motherhood! Daphne is no longer an it, he’s a boy!!

Yes, it may be weird that we’re still calling in Daphne, I just don’t want to jinx anything by calling him his actual name until he comes out. His name isn’t a secret – avid blog readers will know his name (and my friends and family!), but please, if you comment below, please call him Daphne. Until he’s out at least - sometime in January!

Check out these really cool, 4D pics of him – how cool!

Thats it from me, have a great weekend!

Fathers Day, 2008 ~ Sydney Family Portrait Photographer

After 2 days of rain last week (where I cancelled 4 shoots…. ) Sunday was a beautiful sunny spring day, the perfect setting for Fathers Day, 2008. I had all the family over for some good old fashioned home cooking (ie – mum and dad picked up chicken, chips and salad on their way over), and we spent a lovely day eating, talking and laughing. I snapped a few photos of the Dads in my life – enjoy.

My brother, Lyndon, and his 3 year old son / my nephew, Kye

My dad, Bruce, with my brother, and my new nephew – Nate, age 11 weeks.

And my husband, Stuart, who isn’t a father just yet, but he’s loving my growing tummy (thanks to Lyndon for taking this photo of me & Stu – since I started my business, I hardly have any photos of us together anymore!)

And, just because I couldnt resist – here is little Nate again!

I have a heap of other photos from last Sunday, including a few of my Nan with Nate, I’ll get around to editing and posting over the next few days!

Tomorrow is my 20 week ultrasound, so fingers crossed they’ll be able to tell me if little Daphne is a boy or girl = im dying to go shopping!

Thats all from me, enjoy!

Good luck with the photos, Sian, and im sure i’ll see you on Home & Away in a few months!
