Lisa, Micko & the girls {Sydney Family Portrait Photographer}

Im not sure what to write here that I havent already written about these guys…… Ive known Lisa & Mick for years and years and years. I met them both back in 1997 when we all worked at the same real estate agency. All of my family, and many of my friends know them, and I know all of their families, and most of their friends…. they’re the kind of friends that have blended into family, rather than friends (yup, I think they’re the only ones that have been at my ‘family’ birthday dinner the last, what, probably 10 or so years – before Stu even, ha!). Anyway, I guess if they’re family, their 2 little girls are like the niece’s that I don’t have. 2 and a half year old Sophie, and little Caitlin, who was born last November. Just adorable.  Soph generally needs a little warming up for the camera, but not on this day, she’s was loving her ‘super model’ poses – check her out, with her mummy, daddy & baby sister!

Sophie was sticking her belly out like daddy does, here.

The 2 girls.

‘KK’

For some reason, Mick thought it would be AWESOME to teach Sophie how to do ‘thumbs up’ just days before their photo-shoot…. good one Micko!

Thanks Lisa & Mick, for letting me take some updated family photos. Next time we’ll do it on a warmer day… :)   xx

Just had to share….. {Sydney family photographer}

I had a few ‘rain-checks’ last week and over the weekend, meaning ive had a chance to edit some personal photos from the last few months. I just had to share this cute little one that stood out, he’s my good friends little boy, I think he’s just on 7 months here, taken about a month ago. Just adorable! Such a cute age to photograph!

Enjoy!

So all of those rainchecked shoots are now on this week & weekend. If the rain holds off, by this time next week there should be 2 engagement sessions & 3 family portrait shoots on the blog….. (well, maybe not all on the blog, but in the process of being blogged!)

Have a great week, everyone! :)

Princess Hannah, with her mummy & daddy {Sydney Newborn Photographer}

Well, the day has finally come. I knew it would. Last Thursday, I took photos of an ex-boyfriend & his new family. I was wondering how long it would take. There aren’t too many ex-boyfriends out there, but I had thought in my mind, the first time would be for wedding photography.  (I was actually asked by an ex about being his wedding photographer, but I had just found out I was pregnant, so decided to give it a miss (good call  – I was HUGE). I had it all in my mind…. having coffee with the bride-to-be, showing her some albums and running thru our wedding packages, and then the groom-to-be comes home…. aarrrrhhhhh!

But alas, that wasn’t to be. Luckily, my ‘first time’ was for good old Adam, my year 8 boyfriend. We ‘went out’ for something like 326 days (Adam knows the exact amount – go figure). We were so inlove. We kissed twice. On the cheek. So romantic. Thankfully, we’ve been great mates ever since. Adam even did a speech at my Hunter Valley wedding, referring to him (my first boyfriend), and Stu (husband!), as bookends. It was awesome. Stu & I still laugh about it to this day.

So Adam moved on to greener pastures. After years of dating ‘maybes’, he finally found the one – the gorgeous Alex. And then packed his bags, and moved with Alex to London for a few years. Great. Now what was I to do. My left bookend was gone! But all good things have to come to an end. They moved back to Sydney, bought a house, got engaged, got married, and popped out the cutest little button ever – princess Hannah Olive Philippe. And on her 3rd day home from hospital, ‘Aunty Lauren’ dropped over to say hi, and to take some photos for the family album. Here they are.

Ah, Adam.

Smitten. Dead set smitten. It was awesome to see.

And Alex, she’s just so inlove with her new little bundle of joy.

The new little family of 3.

Hannah was 55cm when born, and weighed 3.84kg. Tall & skinny – look at those legs!

Mum & dad just cant stop looking at her!

The classic pose – on the bed, under the wedding photo. No, I wasn’t their wedding photographer – I was a guest (party time!)

Hannah fell asleep right at the end of the shoot, on the leather lounge.

To Alex & Adam – you’ve created a little miracle, she’s absolutely adorable (even tho I do think she looks a lot like her daddy!). Looking forward to watching her grow thru the years, and then laughing when she dates my son… :) Love you guys lots and lots xxxx

The May family of 5…… {Sydney Family Photographer}

Louise & James were one of my first ever wedding couples, they were married a few years back at Cafe Enzo, Peppers Creek, at the gorgeous Hunter Valley (I LOVE Hunter Valley Weddings!). We’ve become great friends since then, and went through our pregnancies together – Me with Tommy, and Lou with little Abby, who was born just 2 weeks after Tom! Louise is a top hairdresser, and owns Aspire Hair at Quakers Hill – 9626 0032 (tell her I sent you!) :)

Another shoot thats been a long time coming… these guys were one of the families that I had to cancel last October / November when I had every illness under the sun (thanks daycare!), and we’ve postponed the shoot about a million times since – its either been raining, or one of the kids has been sick! Anyway, last week I finally took them to a nice little spot by the water to capture this gorgeous family of 5. Check them out:

The Kiddlets – Luke aged 10, 3 year old Ryan, and Abby, who turned one in Feb!

Ssssoooooooo Cute!

Brotherly love.

Abby’s still finding her feet – she’s doing pretty well, if you ask me!

A few photos just of mum & dad….

I wont tell you what Lou’s laughing at here ;)

The May party of Five.

A long time coming, but what a beautiful family to photograph! Love you lots and lots, guys. Check your inbox for your slideshow :)

Mr & Mrs Bucko, and their 3 princesses….. {Sydney newborn baby photgrapher}

Katie had been looking forward to this shoot for a while now – she’s part of my school group of mums that catch up for coffee and a chat about once a month (Glenn & I went to school together, but its such a small world – Katie is related to my Godfather, and she also used to work with my husbands high-school girlfriend…. that whole 6 degrees thing all over again!).  I love taking photos of my friends & their kids, im still so honoured that they trust me to capture these precious memories for them, and I still get such a thrill when I go back to their homes years later, and see my photos hanging on the walls.

Anyway, this shoot had been booked in for a while, Katie was told to slow things down by her doctor, with fear that bubs could pop out a bit early. She made it to about 38 weeks, which was just perfect. And, after a bit of confusion with the stenographer reading the 12 week ultrasound wrong, 2 weeks ago, this gorgeous little baby girl popped out:

Abbey Jean is the newest addition to the Buxton’s netball team. There are currently 2 other players – 5 year old Darci & 18 month old Tayla:

The Buxton party of 5.

Burp time!

I didn’t realise until I re-read Katies text that she sent me when Abbey was born, but she was actually born on my mums 50th (+gst) birthday! Happy birthday again Tootsie, and thanks for all the gorgeous hats you’ve been making for me :)

Might have to update that photo now, guys!

Thanks again Katie & Glenn, for letting me photograph your new little bundle of joy – she’s just gorgeous, and will be very loved by her 2 sisters! Looking forward to seeing them all grow into lovely young ladies (and also watching Glenn squirm with having to pay for 3 weddings :) )  Check your in-box for your slideshow. L. xx

A Newbie & an Angel {Sydney maternity photographer}

Christine contacted me a month or so ago, after some pregnancy / maternity photos, and then some newborn photos once bubs has arrived, and she also mentioned that her and her family were new to Sydney. Suddenly alarm bells start going off in my head – 2 of my favourite things in the 1 e-mail: a maternity shoot & a family who are new to Sydney! So immediately I suggested photos around Sydney Harbour, the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, etc. We set a date for the photos (Good Friday), and I warned Christine that it always rains in Sydney over Easter, and we may be pushing the shoot back a week (what I didn’t tell Christine is that im kinda jinxed when shooting around then city – it always rains – proof can be seen here). BUT GUESS WHAT – no rain! Just a cool family of 3 and a half, waiting for newbie’s arrival:

Meet Christine, Jose, little Angel & Newbie (in mummy’s tummy):

We played a game of who can make the perfect heart around Newbie. Christine had it down pat.

So did Angel & Jose!

Then the real fun began…… FINGER PAINTING!!

LOVE this shot.

The finished project.

While the finger paints were out, we wrote some more….. (Angel picked the colour blue, maybe she knows something that Christine & Jose don’t?!)

Angel picked the colours for ‘newbie’ – Christine & I joked that she was looking a little like Google……

It was so lovely to meet you and your family, Christine, and I look forward to meeting ‘Newbie’ in about a months time! Enjoy your photos, and check your in-box for your slideshow! xx
