Rockstar Brody and his fab family! {Sydney Family Photographer}

A month or so ago now it was Red Nose Day Australia.  Like so many of these ‘days’, I never seam to find out about them until they’re well and truly over, which drives me NUTS! Anyway, I did find out about Red Nose Day the morning of, and put a shout-out on our Facebook Page for anyone wanting to book a shoot, that we’d donate 50% of the session cost to Red Nose Day. Anyway, within about 5 minutes, Annali had booked in her shoot! So warm & fuzzy’s all around :) Facebook is a funny thing – Annali had seen Louises photos from April (as they’re Facebook Friends, thru Louises sister-in-law), and since booking in her shoot, ive gotten to know her a little, so I was really looking forward to meeting her and her family.  This shoot was supposed to be earlier in August, but then she found out her folks were coming down from the sunny Gold Coast last weekend AND it was also her mums birthday on the Sunday, so she pushed the shoot back a few weeks, to include her parents.

So finally, last Saturday, I got to meet Annali, her husband Derek and the cutest little 3 and a half year old – Brody. Check him out:

I really love this shot of Brody looking at the camera, while the rest of the family are looking at him!

Brody with Gran (Margaret) and Papa (Barrie) – a big happy birthday to Gran for last Sunday too!

I could tell you what Brody is doing here, but that would give away my ‘photographing children’ secret ;)

Believe it or not, but Gran & Papa are on Facebook! So this blog post has a few extra family photos , so they can see the photos from the Gold Coast.

What little boy doesn’t like doing ‘noses’ with their dad – and Happy Fathers Day for Sunday, Derek!

Not too sure if Brody gets his gorgeous eyes from mum or dad…..

A kiss for mum!

Doh! Lipstick!

We got out the bubble machine for a few photos, but unfortunately it was a little bit broken, the bubbles decided to come out in massive clumps. Its currently sitting in my laundry tub waiting for a bath :)

So then Brody got out some of his musical instruments (and yes, that is liquid from the bubble machine on his arm)

Check out the whole family grooving away!

Love this one of Brody and his Papa.

And 2 more quick photos of Brody, you’re a gorgeous kid!

Annali, your family is just lovely, I had a ball spending Saturday afternoon with you all. I hope your mum had a lovely birthday on Sunday, and im glad Brody slept well Saturday night :)

Check your inbox for your slideshow, and Im looking forward to shooting Dereks side of the family for you soon too.

Amanda & Jase are married!! {Sydney Wedding Photographer}

Ive gotten to know Amanda & Jase a little over the last few months (since their pre-wedding photos back on what was possibly the hottest day in December).  I was really, really looking forward to their wedding day – I knew it would be stress-free, and just beautiful. Amanda & Jason are just so down to earth…. quick story, I ran into Amanda at a Zumba class back in May, and introduced my friend to her by saying ‘This is Amanda, im shooting her wedding next year’ and Amanda’s like ‘um, its actually this year, in 3 months!’ – in my defence, I was sick, and it was during a coughing attack – but even with her photographer forgetting which year it was, she was still so cool, calm & collected :)

Anyway, back to Amanda & Jase.  Im not sure how many of you know this, but their wedding was actually all planned BEFORE Jason popped the question.  It was the big joke at the Engagement Shoot – they weren’t actually ‘engaged’. So they’d booked the reception, the ceremony venue, the photographer, and a bunch of other things, without actually having the shiny ring on her finger! But the circles all joined up on Jasons birthday this year, which happened to be on their 5th anniversary! Amandas e-mail to me after the proposal: ‘We went out to lunch yesterday for Jase’s Bday and our 5 year anniversary. Berowra Waters Inn. It was lovely food. Expensive, but we usually try and treat ourselves for our anniversary. Anyway, after lunch we went for a walk out on the balcony and jase got down on one knee and said “Well Amanda, you’ve been waiting long enough…..Will you marry me?” I said I’d think about it. Just kidding lol. I said yes! It was a lovely day!’

And so was their wedding – here are a few of my favourites from their day, starting with Amandas gorgeous flowers, from Nati Bros Roses at Middle Dural:

Amandas ‘step-mum’ Sandy helping her into the dress THAT SANDY MADE. Seriously. Way Cool.

Amanda was SO nervous – you cant tell tho.

The gals – friend Jackie & sister Anna.

Amanda & Bryan, her dad.

My awesome friend Cathy was my 2nd shooter on the day – she took this shot, just gorgeous.

The ceremony was at Fagan Park, Galston.

The boys – Chris, Darren & Jason

Huummmmmmmm – Sydney Hummer Limousines

Ready to walk down the isle, and Bryans on Facebook!  (Joke, im sure he’s just putting it on silent)

For anyone following us on the Tiger Lily Photography Facebook Page, you’ll remember my post from earlier in the week regarding the ‘random’ in the tracksuit with the dog. Well, this is him.  Anyone else laughing?

Father & daughter (without the ‘random’)

The gorgeous location – thanks to Cathy, my 2nd shooter for grabbing this shot!

Married!

After the family photos, we got some gorgeous portraits in the late afternoon sun.

Hubba Hubba!

The whole party – Jackie, Darren, Bride & Groom, Anna & Chris.

And an impromptu kiss!

As we were chasing the last of the sun, Amanda has picked the gardens she wanted to go to – the blossoms being the first! A gust of wind took off with Amandas veil, and we got some gorgeous sunflare in these next photos….

Amandas platinum gold ring was made using her grandmothers diamond.

Hello pretty lady….

There’s Jasons laugh from the pre-wedding shoot!

And theres the wind again!

Gorgeous late winters afternoon light, for a gorgeous bride.

By this time its almost 5pm, and the girls are freezing, and the boys hadn’t offered their jackets yet. Sometimes the photographer just has to step in and rectify things…. :)

Did I say how gorgeous her flowers were?

Married! Yee-Haa!

Amanda & Jasons reception was held at the Mandalay at Lane Cove – a gorgeous old manor home.

And their wedding cake was made by their family friend Beverly.

First dance – ah, theres nothing sweeter.

Amanda & Jase – thank you, for allowing me to photograph your gorgeous wedding last weekend. Cathy & I had a ball meeting your friends & family, and witnessing the love they have for you both. Im very VERY jealous that you’re both drinking Pina Coladas at the Maldives as we speak, but I cant wait to hear all about it! Lots of love xxxx

Oh, and check your in-box for a link to your slideshow, and if you were a guest at the wedding, shoot me thru an e-mail (lauren@tigerlilyphotography.com.au) with Jasons surname, and I’ll send the slideshow your way too!

Balloons, Lollipops & cute kids, in the gorgeous winter sunshine {Sydney Family Portrait Photographer}

Another one of my rain-checked shoots finally got ‘shot’ last Saturday afternoon…… Belinda & I have been planning this shoot for a while now. Ive shot her and her family a few times in the past – portraits when Christian was about 2 (3 years ago), then newborn photos of Ellie almost 2 years ago, and a really fun shoot when Ellie was about 6 months old, where we put a park bench in the middle of the bush in Summer (not to mention Ellie’s Christening & a few of Christians birthday parties!). Time for some updated portraits, but this time Belinda wanted to do something a little different. A princess skirt and balloons for Ellie and lollipops for both the kids. This was the result………

She LOVED the balloons! And what (almost) 2 year old girl doesn’t like getting dressed up in a pretty skirt and knock-out boots!

Sibling love….

The whole family…. I love these next 3 photos:

Time for the lollipops (which probably wasn’t the best idea in the world – sure, they look darn cute, but do you know how sticky these things are…..

And how the blue food colouring just kind hangs around…..   (note about this next photo….. at the end of a family portrait shoot, I ask the parents how much editing they’d like me to do of their photos. I always pump the colour a bit, make the eyes sparkle, etc, but I always ask if they want blemishes removed first. In this case Belinda said no – she wanted to remember (almost 5 year old) Christian just the way he is now – scar over the eye & all! :)

How cute are these kids (and how much do they love their lollipops!)

The gorgeous family of 4.

Time to go for a walk in the late afternoon sun.

LOVE this next photo:

Balloon time again!

The last photo of the day :)

Thanks, Belinda & John, for asking me to photograph your gorgeous family again – Looking forward to the next time!! xx

2010 Christmas Photo Sessions {Sydney Family Photographer}

Last December, during the first week to be exact, we were inundated with enquiries for Christmas Photo Sessions.  It was a real rush, and we had to turn a few people away as we were fully booked. So this year we’re getting in early to remind you to ‘BOOK IN NOW’ if you’re wanting to have some professional photos taken for Christmas Cards or Gifts. Details below:

Christmas 2010 Photo Sessions

$150 for weekend session / $120 for weekday session

(Best time is late afternoon, for an hour or 2. Immediate Family only – which always includes the dog!)

You’ll get 1×8″x12″ or 8″x10″ enlargement of your choice (with the option to purchase more prints / photos on disc / canvas’s / coffee-table books, etc)

You’ll also get a 6″x4″ Christmas Card jpeg – your choice of photo, and a choice of 30 designs (example below)

The last day of shooting will be Sunday 21st November, with orders in by Monday 29th November.

All prints / discs will be delivered to you by Tuesday 14th December (it takes a little longer for coffee table books, albums & canvas’s – so if you think you’ll be wanting these, make sure your session isn’t booked in for too late, so we have time to order)

We’re currently booked out for weekend sessions until mid-September, and have a few other commitments later in the year, which means there are only about 15 weekend days available.

Scary, huh.

Book now to secure your spot – e-mail: lauren@tigerlilyphotography.com.au or phone 0416 006 779 / 8824 7895

Sydney Metro, but we’re happy to travel a little further, if you’re happy to pay :)

Please note, we also had a lot of enquiry for extended family shoots last year, for those families that are home for the holidays. We’ll still be shooting in December & January, however the above dates are the cut-off dates for prints & photos to be delivered before Christmas.

Thanks everyone, looking forward to ’shooting’ some of our gorgeous existing clients, and meeting & shooting some new ones! :) Lauren.

Lisa, Micko & the girls {Sydney Family Portrait Photographer}

Im not sure what to write here that I havent already written about these guys…… Ive known Lisa & Mick for years and years and years. I met them both back in 1997 when we all worked at the same real estate agency. All of my family, and many of my friends know them, and I know all of their families, and most of their friends…. they’re the kind of friends that have blended into family, rather than friends (yup, I think they’re the only ones that have been at my ‘family’ birthday dinner the last, what, probably 10 or so years – before Stu even, ha!). Anyway, I guess if they’re family, their 2 little girls are like the niece’s that I don’t have. 2 and a half year old Sophie, and little Caitlin, who was born last November. Just adorable.  Soph generally needs a little warming up for the camera, but not on this day, she’s was loving her ‘super model’ poses – check her out, with her mummy, daddy & baby sister!

Sophie was sticking her belly out like daddy does, here.

The 2 girls.

‘KK’

For some reason, Mick thought it would be AWESOME to teach Sophie how to do ‘thumbs up’ just days before their photo-shoot…. good one Micko!

Thanks Lisa & Mick, for letting me take some updated family photos. Next time we’ll do it on a warmer day… :)   xx

Megan is having a baby! {Sydney Maternity Photographer}

I just love shooting pregnant bellies. I love meeting mummy’s-to-be and hearing all about their pregnancy stories. Im finding not too many of my clients book in a maternity shoot – either they contact me after the baby is born, or they’re just not too into it, which is shame, because I think its just beautiful to capture the miracle of a growing belly. Megan contacted me a few months back to book in her pregnancy and then newborn shoot.  As I was driving to meet Megan on Friday afternoon, there were raindrops on my windscreen…. We had ‘rainchecked’ our shoot from the day before due to rain. But as Megan’s little girl is due in about 2 weeks – we decided to give it a go…. I came prepared with an umbrella just incase! BUT, we only got a few sprinkles while we were together, so I managed to capture this gorgeous belly!

Hello Megan! You’re going to be a yummy mummy! :)

Aimee bought me these gorgeous hot pink ‘Roses Only‘ roses for my birthday last week. I grabbed 6 of them before walking out the door to Megans shoot (and screamed ‘ouch’, as the thorns were MASSIVE) – they just made the day a little brighter, and seeing Megan is having a girl, I thought they were the prefect prop for her shoot.

Megan, it was really lovely to meet you, on that cold, windy & rainy day! Lets hope your heating is working when I come and photograph your little baby girl in a few weeks :) Enjoy your photos, and check your in-box for your slideshow! xx
